(Please excuse these first few posts. I haven’t done this in awhile and the new fangled technology is really throwing me for a loop! 😬🤣)
The first marschmadness in 2013 was was more about backpacking, hostels, taking the cheapest mode of transportation to get around and sleeping with cockroaches. marschmadness2 will be more about airbnbs, driving and biking around to see incredible sights!
The Journey Begins!!!
We packed up some stuff and donated a ton. It feels so freeing to purge. I highly recommend it.

I would Love to make a list of our beautiful friends in the UK and thank them for being so wonderful but I’d be afraid to accidentally leave someone out. You know who you are and we Love you immensely!
We packed up the car. Jesse bought a used roof box for the paddle boards and extra stuff we didn’t want jam packed in with us. We left Harrogate (near Leeds) and started our drive to Salzburg. It is a 1,002 mile (1614 km) journey with a short ferry ride from Dover, England to Calais, France as well. Maizy and Dottie had to stay in the car for the 1 1/2 hour ferry trip. They slept. We stopped in Heidelberg for a little break which is a good thing to do from time to time. Powering through is absolutely possible but can sometimes ends in fighting 😆.
We stayed with Franky and Eva Schiemer for a fun night in a town outside of Salzburg in Austria (had a great time. They are so very special. I call them our little brother and sister). Then we drove to Maddux’s apartment on the Salzach River. Fun fact: it’s source is the Kitzbühel Alps.

miss you, too! So happy you could travel with your family. It teaches us so much! Email me! 🙂
We just got to Berlin today and are loving it so far! Spent a couple of days in Lubeck in the north then Wernigerode in the Harz mountains….we’ve had to get used to the wet weather but have been feeling the European vibe, big time.
Your adventures are always so inspirational and would love to hear more about where you’re heading.
I miss you a ton,

Safe travels, and congrats to Maddux on his graduation!! It’s incredible to see photos of the kiddos all grown up!
