Boat tour in Kotor

We went on a boat tour with a guide named Dragon. He was great. He took us to Our Lady of the Rocks. The island was formed by people stopping to drop rocks in the lake as an offering to the Virgin Mary. Now various religious buildings are built there. The tradition of dropping rocks is called Fašinada and continues today every July 22nd. If you look at the flooring as you walk along, you can see when a different area was added. We also went to the Blue Cave and swam around for bit. It is beautiful but there were a ton of tour boats in the cave so it was more fun to swim outside of the cave and look up at the cliffs. The submarine tunnels were the coolest part of the tour. The Yugoslav army dug tunnels to house u-boats and submarines. The entrance was camouflaged.

11th country since we began! We have been on the move!!!

UK to France to Germany to Austria to Hungary to Serbia to Bulgaria to Macedonia to Albania to Montenegro to Bosnia to Croatia. We are now in Italy!!!! Took a 7 hour ferry yesterday that was wild. People couldn’t get to their cars and we were stuck in a mass of humanity. We made it out. I oddly love experiences like that. All these different cultures coming together. I love to watch how people respond.
