He first walked out to look at us (didn’t find us very exciting) then he sat back down with a little rooster friend that was by his side. When he got up- he looked like an old man getting out of a super squishy chair. He walked about 30 feet, slumped down in the grass and started digging for ants. He looked over at us a few times like “get a life, people!” He grew tired with the ants and got up slowly and started sauntering away. He put his arm up as if to say, “show’s over! I’m out!” Loved him!

I could have watched him all day! He was so funny without even knowing it
We called this the dinosaur bird. It’s head thing was hard! Check out his feet!
Our little otter buddy
This guy was the cutest. We walked over to his little habitat and he perked right up and ran over to greet us. He wanted Emerson to follow him to the back of the pond. He stuck his head out and looked at her in the one photo to make sure she was still with him. Emerson said that the otter reminded her of Kiko!
I love the picture of the kids with the little monk. Everyone is wearing a different color.
Forget the baby giraffe! What about me?!
SO FUN! In Chiang Mai. Went to a zoo yesterday. Have to post pictures NOW!
Amazing day. We heard so many things about this zoo being poorly run, animals unhappy, etc. Kids really wanted to do something non-temple related, so we rented some bikes and off we went. We got to feed hippos, a jaguar, elephants, giraffes and a leopard! (We had just missed feeding the penguins by about 15 minutes!)
I did not use a zoom lens- we were this close! Sorry for all the hippo photos – I went a little crazy. I couldn’t choose which ones to post.
Here’s a good spot to honor Buddha

This little altar was in a pretty gnarly hotel in the stairwell. There was a cutout area in the wall where someone set up a shrine to Buddha. Sometimes people left food and other offerings during the day. (Trang, Thailand)
We don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day

We may not celebrate Valentine’s Day, but we couldn’t pass up the photo opportunity of being in a big obnoxious twinkly heart. (Trang, Thailand)
Chinese New Year

The decorations for Chinese New Year were beautiful. We were in Koh Lipe on the eve of the new year and the fireworks went off for a very long time. In Trang, on Valentine’s Day, they were working on taking everything down. I love all the lanterns.
