Depending on the species- the tusks can grow 15-18 cm per year. They start growing when the elephant reaches 2-3 years old and continue growing until the elephant dies. We don’t know how old this guy was- but he was huge and gorgeous.
Elephant tusks can grow over 10 feet long and weigh 200 pounds!
