A sea of tables flows onto the street. The smell of garlic is so strong you can taste it. Getting a table in the packed restaurant was no problem- people seemed to fall over themselves to make room for Bob and Lindsay. At one point, a woman came up and handed her baby to Bob. The baby then went to Lindsay then to me. I looked at Lindsay, she basically said ‘this is what they do here!’ So I held the baby until the mom took her back. Too funny.
Jesse and I loved the food and the atmosphere- what a great experience. The kids liked the pita (and maddux loved the hummus) but they were more excited to leave the place since Lindsay said she could score them some ice cream!
We were all spoiled when we went back to their place where Jesse got to watch soccer, I got some really good tea and the kids had their treat. Actually, Maddux and Lennon fell asleep. Lennon got up and ate his ice cream but was so tired he didn’t remember eating it the next morning!

Prince Restaurant- the experience was as good as the food!
Egypt’s version of Justin Bieber?
Bob is quite a celebrity in Egypt. Both him and Lindsay handle it well. They can’t step outside of their home without people yelling “Captain!” and wanting photos. (Captain is what they call a coach.) He’s like Justin Bieber, except instead of young girls going nuts over him, it’s Eyptian men! What a lucky guy! ha
To the Bradley’s- How do we begin to thank you?!?!
We knew you would be welcoming, but we had no idea we would be treated like family. The meals, the accomodations, the rides with Hanney and Walid, the laundry, the pool, the treats! We could go on and on. You definitely made it harder to get back on the road!
I am writing this while sitting at a bus station while flies are swarming around us. Emerson is bummed because she thought we were done with the third world stuff. For breakfast we had a Twinkie and a Ho-Ho and thought of you and your hot air balloon story. Jesse and I had some Turkish coffee that I swear was laced with crack, but we’re ready to go now!
Just got off the night bus- wasn’t so bad. Only had a few people yelling at us in Arabic- we think they were trying to be helpful but you never can tell. In the middle of the night, some military guys came on the bus, had everyone get off with all their bags- checked our passports and had bomb sniffing dogs go through the everything. All was good, so we continued onward.
Thank you again! We can’t wait to repay you some day.
Lindsay- you really made an impression on Lennon! While we were walking around Jerusalem today- he asked when we would be going back to your house. 🙂
My good friend, Jackie, thought I left jesse and the kids for a solo adventure!
No such luck! We are in the Middle East and wifi in Jordan was pretty much non-existent. So I’m in a cafe now in Jerusalem and I’m having of coffee while the kids and Jesse are at the park. I’m going to try and crank out as many posts as I can or until the power runs out on the iPad. Our sleeping arrangements have been ridiculous lately- but I believe that every experience you have in life, you store away somewhere inside of you. Someday, when you require extra strength to deal with something- hopefully the challenging experiences that you made it through pop back up to the surface and you realize that you are much stronger than you think!
